Fabric Rose makers – (Saturday, 11/11, 2023)

Instructions for making fabric roses are at the end of this post.

Ariel & Laura emailed to the Fabric Roses’ Workshop attendees after the Saturday, November 11, 2023 workshop:

Wow, what a great way to spend a fall Saturday, right? We hope this email finds you still basking in the rosy glow of our workshop with the fabulous Laurel Hoffmann. First and foremost, let’s collectively take a moment to appreciate the sheer brilliance and wisdom that blossomed in the room during Laurel’s workshop. Who knew that making roses could be both a therapeutic escape and a fashion statement? We are now convinced that fabric roses are the unsung heroes of any holiday ensemble.
We couldn’t have asked for a more delightful group of attendees—super sweet, witty, funny and ready to conquer the world armed with fabric and flair. Your energy elevated the workshop to new heights, and we’re still buzzing with the warmth of your laughter and the hum of creativity that filled the room.
A heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you for bringing your unique charm and style to the workshop. PhillyCAM is a family, and you’ve added another layer of brilliance to our tapestry. Hope you all have a safe and Happy Holiday season!

During the first two hours of the four-hour seminar attendees determined their best color palettes. Laurel explained that Doris Pooser had discovered how the four seasonal palettes are related – which she then presented as color flow, while she was working with Carole Jackson, who wrote Color Me Beautiful.

The second half of the seminar the attendees made fabric roses.  All, including those who had little sewing experience, made beautiful roses.
