Certificate Program

Before I found Laurel’s certificate program, I was extremely frustrated with my sewing projects. I spent a lot of time and money on the projects and although I had worked several years as an operator in the sewing industry, my garments were never quite right. The fit was wrong, the color was wrong, the style was wrong. Once I started the program, I knew I was in the right place. Laurel shared her vast knowledge and expertise throughout the entire program. She taught us how to fit basic home sewing patterns to our unique shapes and sizes, how to grade and she even added some couture sewing skills to my already accomplished skill set. I learned to choose styles to fit my body type and which colors look best on me. My wardrobe went from homemade to handmade and my sewing life was changed forever! I highly recommend every course in the certificate program - I learned something new in every class and you will too.

I never knew how much I didn’t know about sewing until I took Laurel’s courses. There was always a question mark; I would follow a pattern for my size and MAYBE it would fit. However if you are not age 15 and a perfect size, then fitting a home sewing pattern can be impossible! Laurel taught me how to fit, how to grade, how to properly finish a seam and how to make an everyday garment look like a couture outfit. And then it fit. EVERY TIME. When You work with silks or other expensive fabrics and you’re not a perfect size, this information was invaluable. ALL of my clothes fit me perfectly now. Thank you Laurel!
