Overcome Your Daily Routine – Focus on Wellness

Guest editor: Eleanor Wyatt

There is no secret that women have very busy lives. Between working, taking care of the family, and maintaining a household, there can be so much on our plates that we forget about our own wellness. However, it is important that you care for yourself, and you can do that by reworking your schedule so you can still get in your “me” time.

As a busy fashion educator, Laurel Hoffmann knows how important it is to incorporate wellness into a hectic schedule, so we have some tips that you can apply to your own routine.

Make Sure to Get Enough Sleep

Since you are so busy, it is essential that you get enough sleep every night. Aim for seven to nine hours of shut-eye as that is what your body requires to repair your immune system and help you to wake up feeling refreshed. If you find that you are having trouble getting to sleep, avoid looking at your phone while you lay in bed as the harmful blue light can keep you awake.

Then Wake Up Early and Exercise

Make it a habit to go to bed at a reasonable time every night so you can wake up in the morning and exercise before the rest of your family wakes up. While more exercise is better, if you can only fit in 20 minutes of cardio or light weights per day, then you will still get the blood flowing and stay slim. Your workout time is also time to be with your thoughts and clear your mind.

Job To Hectic? Then Go Back To School For Your Degree

If your job is making your daily schedule a stressful mess, then you need to think about making a change. After all, you need to have a healthy work/life balance if you want to be healthy and happy. If speaking to your boss about a reworked schedule is not getting you anywhere, then consider returning to school and get a bachelor’s degree in business.

There are many subjects that you can learn in the realm of business, from human resources to project management and any of them can lead to a more fulfilling career. If you need to stay at your current job while you learn, then going to an online school is ideal because you can continue to work while learning your new skills and you can do it on your own time.

Start Your Own Business and Form an LLC

If you really want to set your own schedule and live your best life, then consider starting your own business. Think about what interests you and try to turn it into something meaningful. If you love technology, then you could start a business building websites. If your passion is fashion, then you could sell your own designs.

Whatever you do, consider starting your new company as a limited liability corporation. Many new entrepreneurs choose to start an LLC because the process is relatively simple with less paperwork and far more flexibility than the other business structures. Plus, you get great advantages come tax time so you can reinvest the money you save back into your business.

Keep in mind that you will need to name a registered agent who will be your point person when it comes to speaking to tax and government agencies. It is a good idea to appoint this person so you can let them handle those responsibilities as you focus on running the company.

Incorporate Fashion and Be Confident

Since you are on your feet all day, it is important that you dress in such a way that you are comfortable but also confident in your appearance. Treat yourself and buy some clothes or sew your own and make an outfit that makes you feel on top of the world. When you have confidence, then you will feel better overall, and when you are happy then you’ll also be healthy.

As you can see, there are numerous steps that you can take to incorporate wellness into your busy schedule. Make sure that you get enough sleep, exercise when you can, and consider returning to school or starting your own business, and you will find your inner happiness.
